The Grand Winner of Building of the Year 2022!

Uppsala City Hall has been crowned the overall winner of the prestigious title Building of the Year 2022. The project was honored for its exemplary collaboration in a large and challenging endeavor with a focus on sustainability. In October 2021, the City Hall was completed following a comprehensive renovation, including the construction of an entirely new extension. The building is certified as BREEAM Excellent and is designed to be highly energy-efficient, meeting the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building, and Planning's nearly zero-energy requirements.

We are delighted and proud to have been entrusted, in collaboration with Caverion Sverige AB, to deliver a customized intake hood to Uppsala City Hall, with Peab Sverige AB as the main contractor.

The supplied intake hood can supply air to the entire new part of the City Hall. The hood boasts an impressive diameter of 4.5 meters, a louvre height of 4 meters, and an airflow capacity of 38,500 liters per second.

For this project, EKOVENT has also delivered fire/smoke dampers, pressure relief dampers, smoke exhaust fans, external louvres, burglary resistant louvres, and wire mesh louvres.
